I'm actually posting this for a friend. She has the SM-N910V Retail and has updated her phone up until Marshmallow. She doesn't remember when this started, but her phone started to drop calls in certain areas of her house. It use to work just fine. Problem is, she isn't able to really pinpoint which update was applied to where her problems started. This phone is not rooted and the bootloader is locked (in otherwords, stock retail and has taken all OTAs).
- Can some kind of fix be applied to fix call connection issues as is (since it's locked and not rooted)?
- Can her phone still be unlocked and rooted or is Marshmallow past the point of no return? I know there's a Verizon Datafix file out there, which I don't know if that would solve her problem or not. That's why I ask about being able to unlock and root.
