SD card which has be formatted to internal storage is not being read anymore

I have images that I wish to keep saved to my SD card and I wish to retrieve them, I would be very grateful for any help.
My phone is the Motorola Moto G (3rd Generation) with 8GB internal storage and my SD card is a 128GB UHS1 SuperCache.
