LG is set to launch its much-anticipated flagship device, the LG G6, at the MWC show. Now just a week ahead of the official launch, LG has revealed some more details regarding the device's camera setup.
In an official blog post earlier, LG has confirmed that the G6 will sport two 13 MP camera sensors on the back. As revealed by the company, one sensor will be used for regular image capture, while other will be a wide-angle sensor, which will allow users to capture wide-angle shots with a 125-degree filed of view.
Unlike the LG G5, which had a different megapixel count (16MP + 8MP) for the regular and wide-angle lens, the G6 will use same 13-megapixel lenses for both cameras. According to LG, the reason behind using the same 13 MP unit for the wide-angle camera is that it will allow users to capture wide-angle shots with the same picture quality as the regular camera.
Speaking of the front camera, the front shooter will offer a 100-degree field of view though details regarding its resolution is unknown at this point. LG has also implemented a bunch of new features in the camera UX to take advantage of its 5.7-inch 18:9 screen while using the camera.
The LG G6 will be powered by Snapdragon 821 SoC, it will feature waterproof design and the device will mark the first ever non-Pixel device to come pre-loaded with Google Assistant (according to rumors). LG has a press event scheduled on February 26th in Barcelona, Spain so hopefully, we won't have to wait long to learn more about the company's upcoming flagship.
