Specifications of the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus Leaked

We've known about the Motorola G5 Plus for a while, with some rumored photos and specifications coming out just over a week ago. With MWC 2017 just round the corner, more information on the phone as well as its younger sibling, the Moto G5, was bound to be leaked out.

A Spanish retailer, K-Tronix, seems to have launched its Moto G5 Plus page a bit too early. The page was taken down shortly after, but not before Reddit user /u/eggomallow took some screenshots confirming most of the device's specifications. We're now pretty much certain that it will come with a 5.2″ FHD display, a 12MP rear-facing camera (with Dual Autofocus Pixels, which should provide fast and more accurate focusing), a 3000mAh capacity battery, 64GB of storage and an NFC chip. While the specs only list 2GB of RAM, it's extremely likely that there will be another version sporting 4GB of RAM as well based on the current models: the Moto G4 Plus currently has two variants with 2GB and 4GB of RAM in the US.

With what looks like a metal body design, a fingerprint sensor at the front and the power-efficient Snapdragon 625, this is shaping up to be a very attractive mid-range device which should provide a smooth experience and excellent battery life.

As for the regular Moto G5, the screen size seemingly has gone down to 5″. The SoC has been switched down to the Snapdragon 430 as well, and the internal storage option will be restricted to one 32GB variant. The smaller sized G5 will also see a slightly smaller 2800mAh battery, which should be fairly sufficient for that screen size and efficient SoC. The G5 will also have a 13MP rear camera with PDAF.

If you're looking for a new device on a low budget, or if you want a capable smartphone without having to worry about battery life, keep an eye out for these new phones from Lenovo.

We're still not sure about the release date and exact pricing, but that should be made clear at the Mobile World Congress, during which the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus should be officially announced.
