Last week, OnePlus announced the OxygenOS 4.1.6 OTA update for both the OnePlus 3 as well as the OnePlus 3T. This update started rolling out to more people this week and they finally added the firmware to their downloads page. The new builds brought in some of the features that we talked about from the last Open Beta update, but changelogs seem to indicate that they aren't exactly identical to the last Open Beta that was rolled out.
So while OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users are now getting the OTA update notification for the stable build, a new Open Beta update has been announced. The new update happened early this morning and is bringing Open Beta 18 to the OnePlus 3 and Open Beta 9 to the OnePlus 3T. As with the more recent updates though, both of these come with the same changes since OnePlus has unified the software they're using on the two devices.
We're not seeing new features listed in the changelog, but it does come with a number of bug fixes. This is something we like to see in beta builds as squashing bugs is the whole point of letting people test your software early. If you had noticed any duplicate notifications, then that's one of the bugs that should be fixed in this new update. Some were also reporting expanded screenshot duplicate stitches, and that is another bug that should be fixed as well.
OnePlus says they fixed the App Locker feature, but don't go into details about what the issue was. Some were seeing an inaccurate battery percentage in the status bar and that should be fixed in this update as well. Two display issues with the OnePlus Font and the weather application were patched up as well. The last things on the list talk about fixing a bug that prevented you from opening the camera and then two different issues pertaining to the hotspot feature.
