You Can Now Order Food Straight from Facebook with the Tap of a Button

Ordering takeout or delivery from your home in the past has been pretty much the same, straightforward process: you choose what you want to eat, call the restaurant number, and they will make sure you and your food and swiftly united. However, with the advent of new technologies, these restaurants have adopted many new options and different services, including Internet ordering and even mobile applications, often over-complicating the process of ordering food for folks not used to technology, or even a specific website or app menu and checkout layout. Facebook wants to simplify the process for their users, and as such, they're now allowing ordering takeout food straight from their website or mobile app.

Facebook is now rolling out a feature that will allow users to order their favorite food, straight from a restaurant's official Facebook page, with the tap of a button. According to Facebook, aside from simplifying the process of ordering food for everyone, it's complemented by other Facebook page options, like recommendations based on recent orders and location, user reviews, and much more. It's aimed at big national food chains and local restaurants alike, so in the near future, you will be able to order a Domino's pizza just as easily as ordering Chinese food from your local neighborhood restaurant.

At launch, United States users will be able to order food from Papa John's, Wingstop, Panera, Jack in the Box, TGI Friday's, Denny's, El Pollo Loco, Chipotle, Five Guys and Jimmy John's, as well as other restaurants using delivery services like Delivery.com. However, more and more restaurants should hop into the service with time. The feature is now gradually rolling out to US users for both the website and the Android/iOS app, and it's currently unknown whether it will make its way to other countries.
