Android Oreo-based MIUI Global Stable update leaks for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro launched two months ago in India. With a 5.9″ FHD+ display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 system-on-chip, dual cameras, and 4/6GBs of RAM at an affordable price, it's easy to see why the device keeps selling out (though that's also because Xiaomi has only been offering limited quantities of the device in flash sales so far). The device launched with Android 7.1 Nougat, although a few weeks later it was launched with Android Oreo in China. We later found a leaked build of MIUI Global Beta based on Android 8.1 Oreo, but for those of you who are waiting for the stable release, we have good news: the MIUI 9.5 Global Stable ROM for the Redmi Note 5 Pro has been leaked.

According to our tester, this Android Oreo-based ROM has fewer bugs and has provided excellent battery life compared to the leaked beta build. This is to be expected given that it's a release intended for the stable channel rather than beta. All of the standard features in MIUI 9.5 for the Redmi Note 5 Pro should be there including the new iPhone X-style gestures that are becoming increasingly popular across the Android ecosystem.

This update, like the leaked beta ROM and the MIUI China Stable ROM, brings Project Treble compatibility to the device, so if you aren't a fan of MIUI you can flash a Generic System Image onto it. The unofficial LineageOS 15.1 build is basically bug-free we should note, so you don't have to go this route if you want to enjoy an AOSP-based custom ROM.

XDA Recognized Developer yshalsager and XDA Junior Members xdatman and geminids14 have pulled the OTA download link for the unreleased Android Oreo stable update. This update can only be flashed after unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP onto the device because it hasn't been approved for installation through the official updater app. You can download it at the link below:
