optimise for wifi speed

Hello I am not a developer but want to ask all you that what is the maximum speed of WiFi that All you are getting my connection of Cable net is of 5mbs but my a311 is getting only about 2.5mbs I have also transfer files on WiFi, same speed then changed and tweaks my router for different channel and all other stuff and then my other phone did get better speed on files transfer but not a311 my question is that can we tweaks and optimise our a311 WiFi for different channel or for better speed when it is theatering or transfering files or is this because of read/write speed of internal storage
